What are my medication options?
We believe that each person is individual and thus each program should be individualized for that person's success. After meeting with you for a complete intake visit we will discuss the various options that are most suitable for you. There are injectable and oral medications, some taken daily and some taken weekly. Many of the medications for weight loss were originally used for another condition and were then found to have a remarkable positive effect on weight loss as well. In addition to a healthy diet and regular exercise, medication can support you in many ways:
-
help control over-eating or binge eating
-
regulate hunger
-
provide a feeling of fullness
-
reduce cravings and "food noise"

How do GLP-1s work?

GLP-1 medications originally developed for managing type 2 diabetes, and have since become widely used for their weight loss properties. GLP-1 medication mimics the effects of the GLP-1 hormone that regulates blood sugar levels and appetite.
These medications support weight loss in multiple ways: appetite regulation, delayed gastric emptying (feel full longer), increased insulin release in response to blood sugar levels, and increased fat burning through energy expenditure.

Studies have shown that use of a GLP-1 can help patients lose 15-20% of their body weight.
How does a GIP/GLP-1 work?
Glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists promote weight loss through appetite suppression, increased insulin secretion, and suppression of glucagon release.
Studies have demonstrated that this dual target medication can promote cardiovascular benefits such as improved lipid profile, reduced blood pressure, and reduction in organ surrounding visceral fat. Participants in some these studies were able to achieve weight loss of 25% or more of their body weight.

How much can I expect to lose?
On average patients can lose 1-3 lbs per week, depending on how much weight they need to lose. All medications are meant to be used in conjunction with healthy nutrition and regular exercise, and are not a replacement for lifestyle changes.*
*Individual results may vary.
Our Program
Your journey starts with a CONSULTATION with a board certified healthcare provider. We will spend time getting to know you and your goals. Your medical history and lab results are reviewed and your preferences and lifestyle are discussed. We will incorporate this information when tailoring a program just for you.

Following your consultation your program can begin IMMEDIATELY. We will set you up with a plan that incorporates nutrition, movement and medication support if you choose. Many patients enjoy immediate results in their first week. On average, weight loss can be 1-3 lbs per week depending upon the amount of weight needed to lose. While results vary, we work closely with you to make sure your program is designed for optimal results.
MEDICATION can be administered weekly in our clinic or you can opt to have it shipped directly from the pharmacy to your home. We will make sure you are thoroughly trained in the proper way to administer the medication each week. RESULTS will be monitored and dosing will be adjusted appropriately to target maximum results.
We are available for you every step of the way. Weekly check-ins can be both SUPPORTIVE and MOTIVATIONAL and are available to you depending upon your program selection.
